As the name above suggests, REDESO is involved with development issues. In development there are various obstacles, which need to be overcome in
order to reach the intended goal of development relief. REDESO was formed to address some of the problems encountered in local development in
Tanzania. The main aim of the organization is to reduce poverty and to improve the security of the livelihoods of the local people through
sustainable agriculture and environmental management, and by encouraging the sustainable use of energy resources.
The Ngara field office encompasses the departments of;
Research Monitoring & Evaluation,
Environmental Conservation,
Environmental Rehabilitation
and
Environmental Education (Extension Services).
These four departments are currently operating within the refugee camps of Lukole A
& B, and within the local Tanzanian villages surrounding the camps.
