The overall goal of this department is to rehabilitate areas back to their original state by intervening of seedling raising in tree nurseries, forestations, reforestations as well as enrichment planting in existing natural forests. Generally we would like to cover all areas in the camps and villages with vegetation ranging from herbs and shrubs to large trees. In the case of hardpans (compact soils), micro-catchments accompanied with pioneer vegetation to facilitate aeration and percolation of water are necessary. The importance of this task cannot be overstated and the benefits are numerous but in essence these are:  trees and vegetation to prevent soil erosion and contamination of water sources. They enrich the soil for cultivation and improve the appearance of the landscape.
